Bridging the Digital Divide

Developing countries should explore broader cooperation among themselves in new business platforms such as digital economy, smart city and 5G. For instance, major countries like China are supporting African countries in applying digital technologies to transportation, medical care, finance and other livelihood areas, building “smart cities” and leveraging digital technologies to strengthen state governance and control COVID-19. Dialogue on digital cooperation among developing countries should seek to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace by sharing digital technology dividends and bridging the digital divide. Ultimately, the South needs to cooperate in maintaining cybersecurity and building a peaceful cyberspace.
